A 4-year-old boy died early Wednesday morning from injuries he sustained in a Charles County crash that also caused injuries to two siblings and the children's mother, officials said.

Darius Harsha, his 2-month-old sister and his 6-year-old brother were being driven by their mother on Monday when the mother lost control of her car and struck a tree in the 9500 block of Billingsley Road in Waldorf, according to the Charles County Sheriff's office.

The children were flown to Children's National Medical Center. Darius had life-threatening injuries and died shortly after midnight Wednesday. His siblings were admitted in critical condition, but their injuries do not seem to be life threatening, officials said.

The children's mother, 25, was flown to Washington Hospital Center and was admitted with non-life threatening injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
