ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) — Metro says repairs are complete on a broken rail south of Reagan National Airport blue and yellow line riders may see minor delays during the morning rush.

Metro says trains are no longer using just one track Thursday morning, so riders should only see residual delays as service returns to normal.

Crews had to install a new 39-foot section of rail between the Braddock Road and airport stations. Metro says sharp changes in temperature can cause broken rails and the area has seen a 50-degree swing in temperatures in the last few days.

The transit agency says most rail breaks are detected automatically by its signal system.
