Brownfields workshop planned in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Dealing with abandoned buildings or contaminated property will be the focus of a free workshop Tuesday in Shreveport.

The program is sponsored by the city of Shreveport, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Technical Assistance to Brownfields Program at Kansas State University.

It's designed to help communities gain a better understanding of redeveloping properties that have been chemically contaminated.

The session will be from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at Riverview Hall, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway.
