The figure easily bests Charlie Palmer's ($296,912) and Bobby Vans ($258,766). Members of Congress tended to stick to restaurants close to the Hill for fundraisers and other events, including Sonoma, Tortilla Coast and Matchbox. A few took chances on newer venues, including Cava Mezze and Hill Country Barbecue, where House Majority Leader Eric Cantor spent $9,000.
