Call this castle home

The old saying is that owners’ homes are their castles.

In Agnes Kribbeler’s case, she’s believes in that saying.

The three-year-old pinkish-gray brick home she shares with husband Stefan and their children has two castle-esque curved turrets in the front and three turrets in the back facing the patio and wooded backyard.

“I feel like I live in a fantasy world,” Kribbeler said. “This place is an enchanted forest where I am the princess.”

The Kribbelers’ 9,000 square-foot home, which sits on three acres at 1336 Crows Foot Road in the Meadowood development of Marriottsville, Howard County, is on the market for $2.6 million.

“This is a beautiful home, exquisitely finished,” said listing agent Pamela DuBois, Creig Northrop Team, Long & Foster Real Estate. Its windows are top-shelf Patriot and numerous sliders and French doors are all Andersen.

A double-arched eight-foot-tall Honduran mahogany front door leads to a granite-floored two-story foyer, Kribbeler noted, adding that her office is on the landing of the elegant curved staircase. (Her husband occupies a sky-lighted spacious office above the four-car garage.)

The kitchen boasts mostly Bosch stainless steel appliances except for the refrigerator, a Maytag.

Custom cabinets are fashioned of cherry and of varying heights “to add interest,” Kribbeler said.

A first-floor master suite exits off the family room, with a tray ceiling and granite master bath with two-person jetted tub and separate shower. The Kribbelers enjoy kicking back on their private patio or in front of their sitting room fireplace, one of five.

Atop the master suite is a second master, perfect for in-laws or a nanny, with similar tray ceiling, fireplace and granite bath.

Kribbeler considers her home “out in the country yet close to civilization.” Alpha Ridge Park is close by, where her daughters roller-blade on two roller-hockey rinks.   Patapsco State Park is also a stone’s throw away, with well-traveled horse trails, foot paths and mountain-bike ruts, as is Western Regional Park , where neighborhood kids play lacrosse and Warhawk football.

Often, locals hang at Waverly Grill, with 14 plasma TVs to satisfy the most ardent sports fanatic. Avid duffers would be also happy here; “Turf Valley Resort and its Alexandra Restaurant , Waverly Woods Golf Club and Willow Springs Golf Course are all near,” Kribbeler said.
