A car went off the Arlington Memorial Bridge and into water Sunday night, officials said.
The driver of the vehicle managed to get himself out of the car once it was in the water. When D.C. Fire and emergency personnel arrived at the scene, the driver was at the shoreline, spokesman Lon Walls said. The driver was then taken to a hospital.
U.S. Park police were removing the vehicle from the water late Sunday night, Walls said.
