NEW YORK (AP) — CBS is teaming with Showtime to create a monthly version of "60 Minutes" devoted to sports stories.

"60 Minutes of Sports" will start airing in November. It will feature regular "60 Minutes" correspondents as well as CBS Sports contributors like James Brown and Jim Nantz.

The telecast on the premium cable channel seems like a direct competitor to HBO's "Real Sports," a monthly newsmagazine on sports topics hosted by Bryant Gumbel.

CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager said "60 Minutes" has looked for expansion opportunities, particularly with the success of its "60 Minutes Overtime" webcast.
