A 15-year-old Chevy Chase boy is dead after a tree fell and struck him near the Rock Creek Trail, police said.

Joshua Davis was reported missing by his parents Monday night when he didn't return from a bicycle ride. Emergency workers found Davis' body Tuesday afternoon in the area of the 9200 block of Jones Mill Road, Montgomery County police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Davis was riding his bike on a side trail off the main Rock Creek Trail when he was struck. Police said that severe storms in the area on Monday afternoon and evening may have been a factor in Davis' death.

The incident is still being investigated. Anyone with information can call police at 240-773-5070.
