CHICAGO (AP) — Sinai Health System in Chicago will have a new president and CEO starting July 1.
The health system's board announced this week that Karen Teitelbaum is taking the top leadership post. The health system includes Mount Sinai and Holy Cross hospitals, along with a children's hospital, a rehabilitation hospital, a health research center and a medical group. Alan Channing announced his retirement in March.
The 57-year-old Teitelbaum has been executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sinai for about seven years. Sinai has served Chicago's west and south side communities for nearly 100 years. Its recent merger with Holy Cross Hospital created a Jewish-Catholic partnership with a mission to bring quality, compassionate health care and social services to economically challenged communities.
