New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie expressed that he would be shocked if his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, made it to this season's Super Bowl, which is being played in New Jersey.

"I would both be surprised — both be excited and amazed — given their performance last week where they didn't stop the Chicago Bears once during a game," Christie said. "I'm just hopeful that the Cowboys can hold on and make it to the playoffs, although they're going to have a tough time with the Eagles so we'll see what happens."

Christie admitted that for any governor, it would be a rare treat to host the Super Bowl and have his favorite team play in the game.

"Of course I'd be excited and thrilled if they did, but let me put it this way, I am not counting on it," he added.
