Could you stage a media roast in New Jersey this year without a joke about Chris Christie and the George Washington Bridge scandal? No, of course not, so there were lots of jokes and ribbing Wednesday night at the annual New Jersey Press Association’s Legislative Correspondents Club Show. It’s the Garden State’s equivalent of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington. According to The Record, eight of the 14 songs performed by the Jersey scribes who regularly cover Christie were about the traffic jams on the bridge. Their titles included such ditties as Ode to the GWB, Shut it Down and Send in the Cones.
