After a hologram stunt during Election Day 2008 earned the network a well-deserved public mocking, CNN is thinking outside the box for this year's coverage of the election returns. The network will be projecting the results on the Empire State Building.

According to a CNN release, an LED panel on the building's facade and mast will allow the network to chart both presidential candidates electoral vote totals. The panel will light up red on one side, blue on another, and all the lights will turn either or blue or red at the end of the returns to indicate which party was victorious.

No word on if Wolf Blitzer will be projected as a hologram onto the Empire State Building as well.
