A Suitland High School teenager was shot in the head while riding in a car with friends after a concert more than 10 years ago, and police are still searching for suspects in the case.

Police believe an altercation at the concert may have something to do with the shooting that killed Ricky Dorrell Lucas, 15, on May 25, 2002. Lucas was at a go-go concert in Suitland that night with some friends, and two of those friends got into an argument with others at the concert, hosted by a cafeteria in Marlow Heights.

A bouncer kicked Lucas and some friends out of the concert, so Lucas and three others drove off down Silver Hill Road. Another vehicle drove up alongside them and fired shots at their car.

Lucas was shot in the head. The bullet went through Lucas and struck a girl seated in the car.

Detective Bernard Nelson of the Prince George's County Police Department said police have few leads in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department's Homicide Cold Case Unit at 301-772-4925.
