Theresa Fowler keeps her cousin Sharmell Robinson's playing card with her wherever she goes.

The card is one of a deck of "cold case" playing cards that the D.C. jail has distributed in the hope that an inmate will see the card and come forward with information to help solve a slaying.

Robinson is the 10 of spades.

D.C. police are now featuring Robinson's case in a new set of YouTube videos. In the video, Fowler shows Robinson's playing card.

"Sharmell was a loving person. She loved music, she loved singing, dancing, was always into a talent show," Fowler says. "Sharmell brought life to our family, and now that is gone."

Police do not offer much information about the case. Robinson was killed on March 2, 1996, on the 600 block of O Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington.

Robinson left behind three children, who grew up without knowing their mother. Robinson would be a grandmother if she were alive today

"My family has been truly, truly saddened by this," said Robinson's mother, Velda Jones. "Even though it's been a long time, we still want justice done."

Anyone with information about Robinson's slaying is asked to call Detective Kenneth Williams at 202-727-4829 or the command information center at 202-727-9099. D.C. police are offering a reward of $25,000 for information that leads to a conviction.
