HAVANA (AP) — Colombia's main leftist rebel group has announced two of its negotiators for October peace talks in Norway.
Mauricio Jaramillo is a top leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC. He says Ivan Marquez and Jose Santrich will take part in the negotiations.
Marquez has been a negotiator in past peace talks and is on the FARC's six-person ruling secretariat.
Santrich is a second-tier leader.
Jaramillo said Thursday at a news conference in the Cuban capital that other negotiators will be announced later.
The Colombian government announced its five negotiators on Wednesday.
The talks aim to put an end to a half-century of bloody conflict in the South American nation.
