There will be more "Alpha House," Amazon Studios announced Wednesday. That means more inside-baseball jokes about senators (played by John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos) who bunk together on Capitol Hill, and likely a few more references to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who unwittingly played an off-screen role as himself in the pilot.

Amazon officially picked up the original comedy, which is set in the current Congress, after tallying votes from viewers who watched the first episode online.

"We're thrilled to have emerged safely from this harrowing exercise in online democracy," writer Garry Trudeau told Deadline Hollywood.
