Congress Sinks Again: 7% Have Faith In Institution

A new Gallup poll says a record-low 7% of Americans say they have “a great deal” and “quite a lot” of confidence in Congress — the lowest-rated institution among the 17 entities tested in Gallup’s confidence survey. Public schools, banks, newspapers and television news all rate higher than the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. In some ways, it’s not surprising that there’s very little trust in Congress given the institution’s low job-approval ratings in recent years.
