LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Three Louisville chefs will compete in a cook-off at the University of Louisville to promote healthy eating and a sustainable food system.

The free, public event is set for 6 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Swain Student Activities Center.

Each chef will receive a basket of ingredients and will be challenged to prepare three dishes, including at least one vegan item. A panel of judges and audience votes will determine the winners.

The participating chefs are from The Brown Hotel, Marketplace Restaurant in Theater Square and Winston's Restaurant.

Local foods will be included in the ingredients for the competition. Some of the competitors' dishes will be offered in UofL's Ville Grill in the weeks following the cook-off.
