HOWELL, Mich. (AP) — Crews worked to extinguish a fire that engulfed part of a 40-foot-high scrap pile at a recycling facility in Howell.

The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell and WHMI-FM report firefighters responded to the blaze Wednesday night at Regal Recycling, about 45 miles northwest of Detroit.

No injuries were reported. The Howell Area Fire Department says the pile contained variety of materials, including metals, plastics and tires.

The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known.
