On this day, March 4, in 1973, Khalid Duhham al-Jawari parked three cars with homemade bombs in Manhattan to coincide with the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir. The plot failed when two of cars were towed for being parked in no-standing zones, and the bombs did not detonate.
