A Takoma Park man has been arrested after police found 18 pounds of marijuana in his home, police said.

A North Carolina man was also charged in the incident.

Police searched Vincenzo Alfieri's house on the 500 block of Belford Place after a residential burglary alarm was accidentally triggered at his home. When police arrived, Alfieri seemed "nervous and uncomfortable," police said. After police asked if "everything was OK," Alfieri allowed them inside, where police found two large plastic bags of marijuana, they said. Police said they eventually found 18 pounds of pot in the home -- as well as $68,000 in cash.

Alfieri, 28, of Takoma Park, and Jeffery Morsch, 27, of Raleigh, N.C. -- who police said was carrying drug paraphernalia -- were arrested on a slew of drug-related charges. Police said the incident was one of the largest drug investigations in department history.
