A D.C. police detective has been found guilty of stealing her brother's identity and thousands of dollars in loans.
Jamell Stallings, 46, was convicted of three counts of counterfeiting, three counts of ID fraud and five counts of theft over $500. She is facing up to 150 years in prison at her sentencing scheduled for April 2.
She has been a D.C. police officer since 1989, a spokesman said. She remains suspended without pay.
Prince George's County prosecutors said Stallings stole the social security number of her brother, forged signatures to several documents and opened an account in his name to take out loans of more than $18,000.
