D.C. police are investigating three armed burglaries of occupied premises.

The first incident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of 46th Street NE. Five or six suspects entered the home, brandished handguns and demanded money. They took a cell phone and power tools and fled on foot, police spokesman Officer Araz Alali said.

Less than an hour later, a second burglary of an occupied home took place in the 2700 block of Bruce Place SE. Two burglars entered a residence through an unlocked door, showed handguns and demanded money. They obtained currency and fled on foot.

In the third burglary, which occurred at about 1:55 a.m. Saturday, four suspects approached the victims while they were in front of a home in the 2200 block of Hartford Street SE. Alali said that the armed suspects got the victims inside the house, demanded money and jewelry and got those items.

The burglars fled in a car, but no description of it was available.

There is no indication so far that the incidents are related, Alali said, but police are continuing to investigate.

No one was injured in the incidents.
