D.C. Police seek Rhode Island Ave. shooting suspect

Police are looking for a suspect involved in an accidental shooting which injured an adult female in the District on Saturday night.

The victim was allegedly shot around 7:26 p.m. Saturday on Rhode Island Avenue, when a gun belonging to a man inside her apartment fell onto the floor and shot her in the leg, said Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman.

The suspect, believed to be a six-foot-two, 165-pound black male, then picked up the gun and fled from the scene, Alali said.
