District drivers will have to make way for elephants Tuesday evening.

Police will close roads from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. as the pachyderm stars of the Barnum & Bailey circus make their second annual walk through Washington, this year from Garfield Park near South Capitol Street SE and Virginia Avenue SE, across the mall and into Chinatown, ending at the Verizon Center. The elephants will stop for a photo opportunity in front on the Capitol on 3rd Street NW.

Police expect large crowds and urge caution for drivers.

The circus is in D.C. from March 21-24.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this report.
