GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a Dallas-bound plane carrying 53 people landed safely at Grand Rapids airport after a warning light flashed soon after takeoff.

Mlive.com (http://bit.ly/QIWiqj ) says the American Eagle flight took off from Gerald Ford International Airport about 7 a.m., and airport officials learned at 7:19 a.m. about an indicator light for a possible engine problem.

The plane landed safely at 7:25 a.m. Airport spokesman Bruce Schedlbauer says there was never a confirmed mechanical problem with the plane but technicians are examining why the light came on.
