Quentin Tarantino told Vanity Fair that John Travolta almost wasn't chosen for the role of Vincent Vega in "Pulp Fiction," a role which garned him an Oscar nomination. "One of the actors I had on the list was John Travolta. And it came back: 'The entire list is approved ... except for John Travolta.' So I got together with Harvey, and he's like, 'I can get Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Penn, William Hurt," Tarantino told the magazine. Apparently, producer Harvey Weinstein wasn't too keen on Travolta. In the end though, Travolta won out, and Day-Lewis went on to have a pretty good career for himself regardless.
