Target and Neiman Marcus were not the only retailers hit by a massive data breach over the Christmas holiday, as at least three other "well-known" retailers also fell victim to the attack. While yet to be named publicly, Reuters sources said the three US retailers have outlets in shopping centres, adding that they suspect the retailers may have been attacked by the same hackers as Target. Having first admitted it had been the victim of a cyber attack on December 19th, revealing some 40 million payment card numbers had been stolen, Target said on Friday the damage was far worse than initially feared.
