ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesotans have a chance to shake off their winter blues next weekend in St. Paul.

McNally Smith College of Music will host the second annual Deepwinter Bonfire on Saturday, Jan. 19.

The free, five-and-a-half-hour festival features improvised live music, spoken word, dance and visual art.

The Deepwinter Bonfire takes place at McNally Smith's Atrium and Auditorium in downtown St. Paul. The event is co-sponsored by the St. Paul Winter Carnival and the College of Visual Arts.

Minneapolis-based improv music collective Coloring Time headlines again this year. Filling out the lineup are Improvestra, a 20-piece improv orchestra based at McNally Smith; Motion Crew, an all-Hmong breakdance troupe featuring four University of Minnesota students; and multimedia artist Time Squid.

The all-ages event runs from 6 to 11:30 p.m.
