DOVER, Del. (AP) — Wesley College has formally acquired the former J. Allen Frear Federal Building in Dover and will use it as a science and nursing facility.

Wesley president William Johnston tells The News Journal of Wilmington (http://delonline.us/TpLFJH) that the college paid nothing for the 36,000-square-foot building. It was acquired through the U.S. Department of Education's Public Benefit Conveyance program.

Wesley plans to remodel the interior; the second floor will be the new home of Wesley's nursing department. The building will have five classrooms on the second floor and significant lab space.
