BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) — The Lincoln County Board of Supervisors has approved the final permits for Delphi Automotive's $15 million investment in upgrades to its manufacturing plant in the city of Brookhaven.

The investment was initially announced in 2011. Approval of the permits came Monday.

The Brookhaven Daily Leader reports (http://bit.ly/1sFTGMz ) the project will include installation of new equipment and other improvements to support a new version of the circuit boards the company manufactures.

Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Garrick Combs said he is grateful Delphi had the confidence to invest in Lincoln County.

"These guys could have spent their corporate dollars at any of their other plants," Combs told the supervisors, "but they are spending their money here."

Delphi executives said they were thankful to local officials for their ongoing cooperation and assistance in the project.

Delphi is based in Troy, Mich., and has operated the Brookhaven plant since 1977, making printed circuit boards.
