Democrats in Ward 8 hosting mayoral forum

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats in the District of Columbia's Ward 8 are hosting a forum for candidates for the city's mayor.

Saturday's forum is being held at Turner Elementary School. It begins at noon and is scheduled to run until 2 p.m.

The candidates running for the Democratic nomination include the city's current Mayor Vincent Gray. Four D.C. councilmembers — Muriel Bowser, Jack Evans, Vincent Orange and Tommy Wells — are also among the field of primary candidates.

The forum is being moderated by Bruce Johnson of WUSA-TV.

The Democratic primary is April 1. The Democratic primary winner has won every mayoral election in the history of district self-rule.
