Dems, GOP, Tea Party Dig In After NJ, VA Elections

Voters in two states have signaled that they want consensus-building even when there's divided government. The message comes at a time when partisanship renders Washington largely dysfunctional. But the results in Virginia and New Jersey and reactions in political circles suggest that hyper-partisanship may continue to rule heading into the 2014 midterm election year. New Jersey gave Republican Gov. Chris Christie an easy re-election in a reliably Democratic state. Virginia voters opted by a narrow margin for Democrat Terry McAuliffe in his governor's race against Republican Ken Cuccinelli.
