Interior designer Sherry Burton Ways once asked a busy female client what she wanted to achieve in her redesigned space. "'I just want to feel good'," she recalled the woman saying.
This was the inspiration for the title of Burton Ways' new book, "Feel Good Spaces: A Guide to Decorating Your Home for Body, Mind and Spirit."
Burton Ways is a certified interior environment coach and Feng Shui redesigner. She said the book is aimed at helping a person to "expand their potential to live a satisfying life through creating an interior that reflects you, your values and lifestyle."
So what makes a space feel good? "This is one of the easiest yet hardest questions to answer," said Burton Ways. "We are asking our rooms to evoke a feeling for us. We all want that 'aha' feeling when we walk into a room. But how do we get it?"
By providing a holistic approach to interior design, Burton Ways helps readers figure it out. - Merlisa Lawrence Corbett
