DETROIT (AP) — A documentary about Detroit firefighters is being screened in the city where it was filmed.

Showings of "Burn" are planned for Friday and Saturday as part of the "Detroit Premiere Weekend" for the film. An after party also is planned Friday night.

The film is from directing-producing partners Tom Putnam and Brenna Sanchez. It began in 2008 after they learned about the death of Walter Harris. The 17-year veteran of the Detroit Fire Department died when a roof collapsed on him while he fought an arson fire in a vacant house.

Sanchez visited a firehouse and the film got its start. A trailer for the film last year drew wide attention. Details of screenings are posted on the film's website.
