For the third straight week, Stefon Diggs has been honored by the ACC, capturing the specialist of the week award. Diggs, a true freshman from Good Counsel, returned the opening kickoff 100 yards untouched for a touchdown and caught four passes for 89 yards in a 27-20 victory at Virginia. Diggs also turned a short pass into a 60-yard gain, setting up Maryland’s second touchdown.

Another local Maryland product, Darin Drakeford (Theodore Roosevelt), was named ACC linebacker of the week. Drakeford had seven tackles, including two for sacks and another for a loss, and forced a fumble by Virginia quarterback Phil Sims. He is the second straight Terp linebacker to win the award. Demetrious Hartsfield was honored for his performance the previous week against Wake Forest.
