Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., claimed she does not know the party affiliation of the people running President Obama’s official (and controversial) super PAC, Priorities USA Action.

“You deny that they are Democrats?” Fox News’s John Roberts asked the Democratic National Committee chair. “I have no idea of the political affiliation of folks who are associated with that super PAC,” she replied.

Roberts reminded her that the super PAC is run by “Bill Burton, who used to work in the White House, worked in Obama campaign in 2008.”

Wasserman Schultz tried to back off her initial claim. “That is a super PAC that is not affiliated with our campaign or with the party,” she said. Obama’s senior administration officials raise money for the super PAC, which his campaign told its donors to support.
