Dolby Signs Collaborative Deal with Tata Sky to Power HD Sat

Dolby Laboratories (DLB) announced late Thursday after the market's close that it has entered into a collaboration with Tata Sky, a DTH satellite television provider based in India. Under the collaboration, Tata Sky+ HD, the new-generation personal video recorder (PVR) from Tata Sky, will support Dolby Digital Plus as its audio codec. According to the companies, the Tata Sky+ HD PVR is set to deliver high-definition (HD) picture quality in 1080i resolution with Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound capability. Shares of DLB are down 0.46% to $47.52.
