Dr. Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon who gained a devoted conservative following after criticizing President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast, hinted at a possible political future Saturday at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

After firing up the CPAC crowd, Carson announced that he was retiring from medicine in three months, saying “there’s more that can be done.”

When asked if he would enter the political arena, Carson replied, “Who knows?”

The brain surgeon jumped into the national spotlight after ripping Obama for his health care overhaul and tax policies — while sharing the stage with the commander in chief.

He delivered a similar message to CPAC on Saturday, accusing the president of intentionally dividing the country.

“Let’s say somebody were [in the White House] and they wanted to destroy this nation,” Carson said. “I would create division among the people, encourage a culture of ridicule for basic morality and the principles that made and sustained the country, undermine the financial stability of the nation, and weaken and destroy the military. It appears coincidentally that those are the very things that are happening right now.”
