BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The driver of a van involved in a fatal drive-by shooting in Buffalo has been convicted of murder.
Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita III says Monday that 29-year-old Rayshawn Bethany faces up to life in prison after being convicted by a jury in the 2012 death of Vernon Hardy.
Authorities say Bethany was driving when Hardy was shot eight times from a moving van. They say once Bethany was identified as the driver he refused to cooperate in the investigation.
He'll be sentenced for second-degree murder on July 25.
