A man's body was removed from a taxi cab in Northeast D.C. that had been on fire, D.C. police said.

About 9 p.m. Wednesday, police went to the rear of the 1400 block of Brentwood Parkway NE and found a burning, four-door Lincoln taxi cab that had run into a fence.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and pulled the driver's body from the vehicle, police said. His body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
