LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has awarded a $150,000 grant to support a technology center in southeast Arkansas.

The grant was awarded to the Delta Technology Education Center, which is based in Dumas. The community partnership to create the center formed after a 2007 tornado caused serious damage throughout Dumas.

The grant will support the Dumas center and expand opportunities for entrepreneurial training in Arkansas, Desha, Drew and Lincoln counties.

The foundation says improving access to technology and education in rural Arkansas will reduce poverty in the state.
