Early voting will resume in Maryland Wednesday after the polls were closed Monday and Tuesday for Hurricane Sandy.

Voting will continue through Friday -- an extra day because of Sandy. Also, the polls will be open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. to help make up for the two lost days.

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett said he expects the county to be able to accommodate voters through the extra day and increase in hours.

The voting booths were packed last weekend as early voting started, and residents stood in long lines throughout the state.
