Elderly woman who fell onto Dupont Metro tracks aided by onlookers

After a 73-year-old woman fell into Metro tracks at Dupont Circle, several onlookers rushed to help her, according to a Metro spokesman.

She fell at about 2:20 p.m. Saturday. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The woman, who was not identified by the Metro spokesman, was not in immediate danger of being hit by a train as there was no train nearby at the time.

The fall did not interfere with Metro service.
