LONDON (AP) — Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis was one of a number of British gold medalists from the London Games to collect honors from Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday.

Ennis said it was a "nerve-wracking" experience to meet the queen and be made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

Ennis added that the queen said "the summer was amazing" and asked how training was going.

Other Olympians honored at Buckingham Palace on Thursday were cyclist Jason Kenny, long jumper Greg Rutherford and boxer Nicola Adams. Dave Brailsford, the performance director of Britian's successful cycling team, was knighted.
