Cable TV subscribers in Corpus Christi are scrambling to find other ways to watch the Super Bowl because of a prolonged financial dispute between Time Warner Cable and the owner several television stations, including the one carrying Sunday's game.

NBC affiliate KRIS-TV is among four Corpus Christi stations owned by Cordillera Communications that have been blacked out for Time Warner subscribers since mid- December.

KRIS president and general manager Tim Noble says (http://bit.ly/xn0qwv ) he understands frustration among viewers but has no indication the channels would be restored in time for the game. Time Warner says station owners are seeking unreasonable increases in programming rates it charges the cable operator.

The cable company has been offering free digital antennas to its 80,000 Corpus Christi-area customers to get over-the-air programs.
