A 47-year-old man shot in his estranged wife and then took his own life in Prince George's County, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Jason Taffe, of Silver Spring, went to the home of his 41-year-old estranged wife, Denise Taffe, in the 7700 block of Pinewood Drive in Clinton on Wednesday night. The pair then got into a verbal argument that turned physical.

The husband pulled out a shotgun and shot Denise before turning the gun on himself. When police arrived at the scene at about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, they found the Taffes lying in the yard. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The murder-suicide is the second domestic-related incident with multiple fatalities this week in Prince George's County. On Monday, a man fatally shot his wife and step-daughter in their West Laurel home, police said.
