Ex-lawmaker to head firm's expansion


NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Texas law firm is expanding into New Orleans with a former state lawmaker at the helm.

New Orleans CityBusiness reports ( ) former state Rep. Loulan Pitre will join Kelly Hart & Hall's new office as partner-in-charge and operate as Kelly Hart & Pitre.

Pitre, who currently teaches part-time at Tulane University Law School, served in the House from 2000 to 2008. His practice concentrates on energy and environmental law and he's known for his work with oil and gas legacy litigation.

Attorneys Aimee Hebert, Demarcus Gordon, Kelly Ransom, Jane Jackson and Victor Jones will also join the new practice.

Managing partner Dee Kelly says the expansion will allow the firm to broaden its range of services.

Kelly Hart also has offices in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas.
