The Fairfax County police officer injured in a head-on collision on Feb. 28 remains in the hospital with "a multitude of significant injuries," police said.

Officer Long "Junior" V. Dinh, from the police department's Mason District station, was injured in a collision with a vehicle that police were pursuing on Little River Turnpike. He was trapped in his cruiser after the crash and had to be cut out of the vehicle, Fairfax County police said.

The Fairfax chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police has set up a fund to help offset the costs of Dinh's long-term rehabilitation.

Anyone wishing to donate to Dinh's rehabilitation fund can visit fairfaxlodge77.com and contribute via PayPal. People can also mail checks to FOP Fairfax Lodge 77; 1921 Gallows Road, Suite 750; Vienna, VA 22182.
