A Fairfax County swim coach has been charged in connection with inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in 2001, Fairfax County police said Saturday.

Police said they received a report Wednesday alleging that the coach, Noah Rucker, 39, had had "inappropriate sexual contact" with a 17-year-old female student at James Madison High School in 2001. Rucker was 29 at the time of the alleged incident and was working at the school as a swim coach, police said.

Rucker, of Bristow, was arrested Friday after an investigation. He was charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a minor while in a custodial and/or supervisory position.

Rucker is still a swim coach in the region, police said.
